Hi All,
Anyone know where I can buy in the UK a holder for 4 spare charged NiMh AA
cells.
There are several in the US for about $3, but the shipping puts it up to
$30+.
I don't want to burn a hole in my groin area!!

Not 4, no, but I can get 3 into a (plastic) 35mm film canister ..
actually I usually carry 2xAA and 2xAAA, which fit quite nicely. This
has the advantage of being free. 8>.

Use an approriately sized pill container. The 'locking top'
won't pop off, and if it is suitable sized, you can put
4(or 6 or 8) batteries in it. Put them in with the + end
up when they are new alkalines, or charged NiMH, then when
you have to change batteries while on a trip, put the "used"
ones in with the + end down. Makes it easy when you get home
to know which batteries need replacing or recharging.

Tamrac, the people that make the camera bags has three different size
battery holders. They are made of a heavy material like their bags, have
velcro to hold them closed, and have a belt loop.

Try contacting Nevada Radio (http://www.nevadaradio.co.uk). They sell Maha
chargers and the MH-C401 is supplied with a battery carrying case. It's
possible that they may be able to supply spares.

I bought an Ansman Battery Charger from Digibattery (www.digibattery.co.uk)
and I also had 8x batteries, and from the order I had an 8 pack battery
holder. They also have a clip so if you have several of these packs you can
join them together :)

The Ansman battery chargers charge each battery seperately so while the
chargers are a bit more expensive than normal they do a damn good job at
charging cells.

If two of your batteries are at different levels of charge most chargers
will fill the fullest first and stop on both. Not good.

I use rechargables in my walkman, pda (Psion5), GPS (Garmin Legend), Digital
Camera and torch (When i find it :) )

Cheers

That's the ANSMANN box. It's okay. The previous model was made from
clear acrylic glass and broke very easily. Not very funny. This current
model is made from flexible soft plastic and doesn't break.

Yes, that is what I have. 8 x AA Cells. Although at this rate I could do
with another set of 8 x AA as well as 6 x D Cells, but that could get
expensive with Ansmann Batteries ;(

If you've got any computer geek friends, just ask them for an 8mm tape
cartridge case. Clear or translucent plastic, holds six AAs, nice and
flat (absolutley perfect height for AAs), great for the pocket, and
free.

Better than anything I've found in a photo store.

Go to your local Maplin and buy one of their 4-AA PCB Mounting Battery
Boxes:
leno=10400&Products=5> for 0.59 GPB.

*Carefully* snap off the connectors and cut the inter-cell wires, but
leave the spring clips in position.

I bought exactly what you are looking for from 7dayshop (in the UK), who
seem to do a good line in rechargeable batteries and accessories.
